Replacing the SD card

DashKeep runs from the camera’s memory card. A new card is blank. The camera loses DashKeep the moment you swap the card in. It records as a plain dashcam until you reinstall.

To set up the new card:

  1. Put the new card in the camera and record once. That gives the card the camera’s DCIM folder.
  2. Open the device’s settings page and select Reinstall DashKeep. It’s one of the owner-only buttons.
  3. Follow the flow with the new card plugged into your computer. It writes a fresh patched firmware, the newest agent, and a rebuilt configuration with your saved settings.

Anything already uploaded is safe in the cloud. Footage left on the old card stays on the old card.
