Changing or resetting your storage

The setup pairing between your browser and the camera is one-time. During setup, the pairing sealed your bucket’s keys to the camera’s device key. A new bucket, new keys, or a lost password all follow the same path. Give the browser a fresh key, then enter the storage details again.

  1. On the device’s settings page, select Download to SD Card (Advanced) and follow its steps to replace the file on the card. The download hands your browser a fresh setup key. Its warning reminds you to re-enter your S3 credentials.
  2. Open the trips page for this device. The unlock card shows up whenever this browser hasn’t remembered the storage password. Browsers that remember it need a small detour first. Open the device’s settings page, select Forget the saved password, and open the trips page again.
  3. On the unlock card, select Reset the storage configuration to clear the stored keys.
  4. Back on the device’s settings page, select Set up your S3 storage and enter your new details, as in the first setup. The fresh setup key from step 1 makes the save work.

The camera keeps uploading to the previous bucket until its next check-in delivers the new keys. The previous bucket keeps every file it already received.

The password never left your browser, so DashKeep can’t recover it for you. Follow the steps on this page to seal a fresh copy of your keys with a new password. The camera keeps uploading with its own copy while you work through them.

Community Edition uploads need an active plan, the same as cloud uploads. If the subscription lapses, the camera stops uploading to your bucket too. Renew from the subscription card on the device’s settings page. See Subscription and storage.
