DashKeep Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 15 September 2026

DashKeep Inc. ("DashKeep", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you, including under the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act (6 Del. C. ยง 12D-101 et seq.) and other applicable privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

In connection with your use of the Service, we collect and store the following categories of information:

  • Video and audio footage recorded by your Dashcam
  • Your IP address
  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your vehicle's make and colour
  • Home zone locations you configure within the Service
  • GPS location history associated with your Device
  • Accelerometer and speed data captured by your Device

2. How We Use Your Information

We process the information described above for the following purposes:

2.1 Providing a stable service. We process footage to maintain reliable storage and playback, including generating a smaller, more easily streamable version of your Content for use where full quality is unnecessary or impractical, such as on limited bandwidth connections.

2.2 De-identification over time. After a defined period, we process footage to remove sensitive personal data, such as visible faces and licence plates, in order to reduce the amount of identifiable personal data we retain in the long term.

2.3 Legal compliance. We may access, review, and disclose footage and associated data with third parties where we are legally or contractually required to do so, for example in response to a valid legal request for footage following a fatal road traffic collision, a court order, or a similar lawful demand from a competent authority.

2.4 Research and analytics. We may provide aggregate data derived from Content to third parties for research and analytical purposes. Examples include (but are not limited to) aggregating anonymised speed data collected on highways to provide road authorities with more detailed traffic insights, providing a university with access to random dashcam footage for their research, for road maintenance firms to understand where defects may be occurring, or for companies to understand traffic patterns. We may also aggregate data derived from other data, like how long your trip was, best guesses of occupancy levels in your car and vehicle type, and what type of journey you were making (commute, roadtrip, business trip, commercial operation, etc.). Where we share such data, we take all reasonable steps to aggregate and/or de-identify it. We do not re-identify any individual in aggregate or anonymized data to third parties.

3. Data Processors

We use the following third party processors to help us operate the Service:

  • Bunny d.o.o. for streaming infrastructure and processing of all user data passed through our streaming pipeline
  • Cloudflare, Inc. for network infrastructure, security, and processing of IP addresses
  • Clerk for user account authentication and management
  • Microsoft Clarity for behavioural analytics used to identify bugs and improve the Service

We require our processors to handle your data only in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection law, and to implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures. For more information on how our data processors use your information, see their privacy policies.

4. Controls to Prevent Misuse of Your Data

4.1 DashKeep employees do not have routine access to your raw footage or personal data. Access is only granted in limited, specific circumstances necessary to diagnose or resolve a technical issue.

4.2 All access by employees to your data is logged. You may request a copy of the access logs relating to your account at any time by contacting us via the Support Chat.

4.3 When you contact our customer service team, no personal information relating to you is disclosed to that team member beyond what is necessary to resolve your query, unless a senior team member specifically authorises further access and records a documented reason for doing so.

4.4 Your footage is only accessible to you, unless you have chosen to share it via a Public Link or with specific individuals as described in the Terms of Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data and Content for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period thereafter as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Footage is subject to automated de-identification processing as described in Section 2.2 after a defined retention period.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law, including the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act, to:

  • confirm whether we are processing your personal data, and access that data
  • correct inaccuracies in your personal data
  • request deletion of your personal data
  • obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable format
  • opt out of the processing of your personal data for the purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or via support chat. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

7. International Data Transfers

Our processors may store or process data outside of the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take steps to delete it.

9. How to Complain or Raise a Concern

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you may:

  • contact us via support chat
  • email us at [email protected]
  • contact your local data protection regulator, which for Delaware residents is the Delaware Department of Justice, Fraud and Consumer Protection Division, which has responsibility for enforcement of the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act

We encourage you to contact us first so that we have the opportunity to address your concern directly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes, and the "Effective Date" above will be updated accordingly.
