Our Story

In 1964, my grandad rode his scooter home from work on a rainy evening. At the same time, Sylvia Darvell was making her way back to a friend's house. She looked left and right, then stepped into the road. It was dark. They hadn't seen each other. He slammed on his brakes, but it was too late. He had killed Mrs Darvell. Only then was the poor street lighting that had contributed to her death replaced.

While my grandad relied on eyewitness accounts, dashcams now keep people accountable. But too often the footage is overwritten before anyone sees it. When the clip is gone, so is the evidence. The driver has nothing but their word against a false accusation or a disputed liability claim.

Some commercial cloud options exist, but most feel like enterprise tools. Contracts, lock-in, fleet pricing. And a modern dashcam has the processing power to do far more than just record. That compute is wasted on deleting its own footage every few hours.

I started DashKeep to build a world with zero preventable road fatalities.

We do this through a compelling, competitive product for everyone. One that saves your footage to the cloud before it gets overwritten, and puts the processing power in your dashcam to work.
